I would like to thank Ironworks so much for the workouts they provide me with, and all the personal help and instruction that I receive. I was at a gym for many years and received little or no help, only when I went begging for it, and then to no avail. I really enjoy their expertise. If the instructors see me lifting or doing something incorrectly they actually stop what they are doing and get me back on the correct path. This is a whole new world of being cared for.

Cardio

Cardio is one of the most important things you can do for your body, whether you want to lose weight, burn fat or improve your health. The great thing is, there are plenty of choices for cardio exercise. Anything that gets your heart rate into your target heart rate zone will work, but there are some exercises that give you a little more bang for your buck.

There's no 'right' cardio exercise and the best choice is the one you enjoy and the one you'll work hardest at, but below are some of the best cardio workouts you can do to burn calories and fat.

  1. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) - training that involves timed work and rest periods to keep your heart rate elevated for duration of workout.

  2. Tabata Cardio - working for a short amount of time (e.g.20 seconds) with an even shorter rest period (e.g. 10 seconds).

  3. Interval Programs - all cardio equipment provides preset programs and one of those options is Interval or Random. These programs will keep the program changing to constantly challenge your body for 35 minutes.
